Green coconuts at Axim Beach Hotel, Ghana.

The Coconut
Coconut, scientifically called cocos nucifera is of the palm family.  I  cannot stop taking pictures of coconuts and coconut trees. I love them. I took these pictures near Kpong in the Eastern  Region of Ghana. The colour of the fruits attracted me. How do you find this colour?

What we can't see but filmaker Louie Schwartzberg can !

Happy Palm Sunday. Easter activities begin in Ghana with processions. Christians mark the day with processions waving palm fronds. The plant I have chosen for the day is the palm. For me the palm, all trees of the palm family signify resilience, beauty, utility and peace. From the date palm of the desert to the oil palm and the coconut tree of the tropics, my attributes hold. Have you other views? Share them with us. Keep in touch we shall be talking and seeing more of the coconut.
This picture was posted early on. But a Quaker friend and a photographer, John Ward in Denver, UK enhanced it. His website is www. megapiks.co.uk Do you see the difference?
